Adam Ounas scored an injury time penalty to earn Al-Sadd a 2-1 win over Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr on Monday that takes the Qatari outfit into the knockout rounds of the Asian Champions League Elite.
Al Sadd secured their advancement to the last 16 of the Asian Champions League with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Sharjah, thanks to a stoppage-time penalty by Baghdad Bounedjah. The match, which took place on December 2, 2024, saw Al Sadd take the lead through Akram Afif in the 27th minute. However, Sharjah equalized in the 67th minute with a goal from Moussa Marega. The game seemed headed for a draw until a late penalty was awarded to Al Sadd after a VAR review confirmed a handball by Sharjah's Shaheen Abdulrahman. Bounedjah converted the penalty in the 93rd minute, ensuring Al Sadd's progression from Group B.
