  Ontario's government-owned lottery and gaming agency has answered the bell in the face of private-sector competition.


The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is set to undergo a significant upgrade to its land-based casino operations, with plans to introduce sports betting and iGaming by December 2024. This initiative follows a recommendation from the province's Auditor General, who suggested that OLG should expand its offerings to include these modern gambling options to remain competitive. The upgrade aims to enhance customer experience, increase revenue, and adapt to the evolving gambling market. The OLG has been working on this project for some time, with the goal of integrating these new betting options into its existing casino framework, thereby providing a more comprehensive entertainment experience for patrons.
