A fan named Michael Minton won a $10,000 prize for making a half-court shot during a college basketball game at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. However, his insurer, Berkley Life and Health Insurance Co., refused to pay out the prize, claiming that Minton's foot was on the line when he made the shot, which according to the rules, disqualifies the attempt. Despite video evidence suggesting his foot was not on the line, the insurance company has not paid, leading Minton to sue for breach of contract.
