Activision confirmed Tuesday that it will release a remake of the skateboarding video games Tony Hawk 3 and Tony Hawk 4 in a single download on July 11. This will be the first year skateboarding will have console titles from two major publishers in more than a decade.

The article from MSN discusses the revival of a video game rivalry between Activision and Electronic Arts (EA) through their respective skateboarding games, "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" and "Skate". Activision has recently released a remastered version of "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2", which has been well-received, bringing back nostalgia for fans of the original games. Meanwhile, EA is working on a new installment in the "Skate" series, titled "Skate 4", which has been in development for some time and aims to capture the essence of the original games while introducing new features. This competition is set to reignite the skateboarding game genre, with both companies leveraging their iconic franchises to attract gamers. The rivalry not only highlights the cultural impact of these games but also underscores the ongoing battle for dominance in the gaming industry, particularly in niche genres like skateboarding.
