The competitive video game team has led to higher grades and better school attendance, officials said.

Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) has introduced Nashville's first high school e-sports program at Hillsboro High School, aiming to engage students through competitive video gaming. The program, which started in the spring semester, offers students the opportunity to compete in games like "League of Legends" and "Rocket League," fostering teamwork, strategic thinking, and digital literacy. The program has been well-received, with plans to expand to other MNPS high schools in the future.
