A freshman starter at SDSU, former Cathedral QB Danny O'Neil transfers closer to home

Danny O'Neil, a quarterback from San Diego State University and originally from Indianapolis Cathedral High School, has committed to transfer to the University of Wisconsin. O'Neil, who was a three-star recruit in the 2023 class, entered the transfer portal after his freshman year at SDSU where he played in four games, completing 11 of 15 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns. His commitment to Wisconsin was announced on social media, and he chose the Badgers over offers from several other universities including Indiana, Purdue, and Illinois. This move marks a return to his home state for O'Neil, who was once considered one of the top quarterback prospects in Indiana.
