The New Albany High School Art Competition, held in collaboration with the Union County Arts Council, celebrated the artistic talents of students with an awards ceremony on April 13. The competition featured various categories, with winners announced across different grade levels. Notable winners included seniors Anna Grace Cook and Bailey Wicker, who secured first and second place respectively in the senior division, while junior Caroline Cook took first in her category. Other recipients of awards spanned from freshmen to seniors, with students like eighth-grader Anna Beth Cook and sophomore Anna Kate Cook also earning recognition. The event not only highlighted the students' artistic skills but also emphasized the importance of arts in education, as noted by the school's art teacher, Emily Cook, who praised the dedication and creativity of the participants.
