North Bay Haven and Surfside place first at cheer competitions

February 5 is National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and NewsChannel 7 recognizes some cheer teams in our area.

North Bay Haven's cheer team competed at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, finishing 10th in the Junior Varsity Non-Tumbling Division. Meanwhile, Surfside Middle School's cheer team participated in the FHSAA Competitive Cheerleading State Championships in Lakeland, securing a 5th place in the Small Non-Tumbling Division. Both teams expressed pride in their achievements and are motivated to continue improving throughout the season.
