Schalke 04 has appointed Dr. Benedikt Scholz as a new board member responsible for sport and communication, effective from July 1, 2023. Scholz, who has been with the club since 2018 as the head of the first team's analysis department, will take over from Peter Knäbel, who is leaving the club at the end of June 2023. Scholz's role will involve managing the sporting side of the club, including the professional and youth teams, as well as overseeing communication strategies. This appointment comes as part of Schalke's efforts to restructure and stabilize the club following recent challenges.
