Super League promoter A22 Sports said it submitted a proposal to UEFA and FIFA, asking football's governing bodies to formally recognise its right to organise a new European competition.

The league will feature promotion and relegation, with teams playing a minimum of 14 matches before entering a knockout stage. The initiative seeks to address criticisms of the original Super League by ensuring broader participation and financial distribution, with the goal of enhancing competition and fan engagement across European football.
