Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods are certainly reaping the financial rewards from their inaugural TGL season. The indoor simulator league, created by the two golf stars, wrapped up its maiden campaign

The TGL, a new golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is set to offer a substantial prize pot of $21million (£17.5m) for its inaugural season starting in January 2024. This league, which will feature six teams of three PGA Tour players each, will play matches on Monday nights in a custom-built arena in Florida. The prize money breakdown includes $9m (£7.5m) for the winning team, with the runners-up receiving $4m (£3.3m), and third place earning $2m (£1.6m). Additionally, there are individual awards: the top player in the season standings will receive $1.25m (£1m), and the player with the lowest single-round score will earn $500,000 (£416,000). The league aims to attract a new audience to golf with its innovative format and significant financial incentives.
