NU reclaims UAAP Cheerdance crown
NATIONAL University (NU) reigned in the UAAP Season 87 Cheerdance competition on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Performing before a crowd of 19,000, the NU Pep Squad claimed its eighth title overall.
The National University (NU) Pep Squad reclaimed the UAAP Cheerdance Competition (CDC) title on December 2, 2023, at the Mall of Asia Arena, ending a four-year championship drought. They scored 705.5 points with a routine themed around the video game "God of War," featuring impressive stunts, tosses, and a pyramid. This victory marked NU's seventh championship in the competition's history. Far Eastern University (FEU) and University of the Philippines (UP) followed in second and third place, respectively, with FEU's performance themed around "The Little Mermaid" and UP's around "The Hunger Games." The event was also notable for the return of live audiences post-COVID restrictions, adding to the excitement of the competition.
