BCB plans to fast-track women's Test debut
Although three and a half years have passed since then, the Tigresses are yet to feature in the game's elite format.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is actively planning to expedite the women's cricket team's debut in Test cricket, aiming to elevate the team's status in international cricket. According to BCB's cricket operations chief, Jalal Yunus, the board is considering a Test match against either India or Sri Lanka, with a preference for Sri Lanka due to logistical ease. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance the women's team's exposure to longer formats of the game, following their recent success in T20 cricket, including a historic series win against South Africa. The BCB is also focusing on improving the team's skills in red-ball cricket, with plans to possibly schedule a Test match in the upcoming season, although no specific dates have been confirmed yet.
