SeriesFest, a festival celebrating episodic storytelling, announced the winners of its Independent Pilot Competition during its eighth annual event held from May 5-10, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. The Drama category winner was "The Ark" by Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner, which follows the crew of a spacecraft on a mission to find a new home for humanity. In the Comedy category, "The Ghost and Molly McGee" by Bill Motz and Bob Roth, about a girl who befriends a ghost, took the top prize. "The Beauty of Love" by Jessica Kavana Dornbusch won in the Unscripted category, focusing on the lives of beauty pageant contestants. Additionally, "The Sound of Violet" by Allen Wolf was awarded the Digital Shorts prize, and "The Jump" by Susan Hurwitz Arneson received the Late Night prize. These winners were selected from a diverse pool of entries, showcasing a range of storytelling styles and genres.
