Maxim Naumov, a 23-year-old figure skater from the United States, received a standing ovation at the World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan, after dedicating his performance to his late parents. Naumov, who lost his mother to cancer in 2019 and his father to a heart attack in 2021, skated to "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, a song that held special significance for his family. His emotional tribute included a moment where he looked up to the sky, symbolizing his connection with his parents. Despite not advancing to the free skate, his performance was deeply moving, earning him praise and support from the audience and fellow skaters. Naumov expressed that the experience was a way to honor his parents' memory and share their story with the world.
