Spurs' Victor Wembanyama credits break in schedule with easing back pain
- Wembanyama returned to the court Sunday against New Orleans at the Frost Bank Center after missing two consecutive games with a sore lower back. A fall forced him to leave the game in the first quarter for treatment, but he returned in the second period to finish with 25 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in 26 minutes of the 125-116 win.
Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs' rookie sensation, has credited the NBA's All-Star break schedule for helping him manage his back pain. Despite dealing with discomfort, Wembanyama has been able to participate in games, including a notable performance where he scored 28 points against the Sacramento Kings. He expressed that the break allowed him to rest and recover, which has been crucial for his ongoing health and performance. Wembanyama also mentioned that while he has been playing through pain, the time off has been beneficial in reducing his back issues, allowing him to focus on his game without the constant worry of injury.
