  • UFC heavyweight Marcos Rogerio de Lima can't get out of his own way. On Thursday, Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) announced through the UFC that Rogerio de Lima had failed a drug test out of competition on Jan.

Marcos Rogerio de Lima, a UFC fighter, has been suspended for one year following his second failed drug test, which occurred after his fight against Derrick Lewis at UFC 291 in July. The test revealed the presence of banned substances, leading to the suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission. This is de Lima's second violation, having previously tested positive in 2018 for a different substance, which resulted in a six-month suspension. The recent suspension was backdated to the date of the test, meaning he will be eligible to return in July 2024. Additionally, de Lima has been fined $7,000 and must cover $386.25 in prosecution fees. Despite the positive test, his fight result against Lewis was not overturned.
