Kevin Stefanski and the team's coaching staff currently has four quarterbacks working to win the Week 1 starting job. Along with Sanders, the Browns have Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel in the competition. Deshaun Watson is also on the roster, but he's not expected to play this year.

Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, expressed confidence in his abilities amid the ongoing quarterback competition during the team's spring game. Sanders, who transferred from Jackson State along with his father, head coach Deion Sanders, showcased his skills by throwing for 219 yards and two touchdowns in the first half alone. Despite the presence of other talented quarterbacks like Ryan Staub and Kasen Weisman, Sanders made it clear that he believes he is the best option for the starting position, stating, "I'm Shedeur Sanders, I'm the best quarterback in the country, and I'm going to show it every time I step on the field." His performance and bold statements have generated buzz and excitement among fans and analysts alike as the Buffaloes look to improve upon their 1-11 record from the previous season.
