  • He didn't come from a big-name program or have a five-star rating to his name. He was just a good football player who flew under the radar and right into South Carolina's lap. Torricelli Simpkins III's road to this point was one less common than most.

Torricelli Simpkins, a highly-touted linebacker from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, has committed to the University of South Carolina for the 2025 class. His decision was influenced by his visit to the campus, where he felt an immediate connection, describing it as "home" due to the welcoming atmosphere and the coaching staff's approach. Simpkins, who had offers from several prestigious programs including Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia, chose South Carolina after being impressed by the program's direction under Coach Shane Beamer and the personal attention from linebackers coach Clayton White. His commitment is seen as a significant win for South Carolina, highlighting their recruiting prowess and the appeal of their program to top-tier talents.
