Gianni Richmond, a 20-year-old boxer from Belfast, is preparing for his second attempt at the Ulster Elite Championships after a year marked by both personal and professional challenges. Following a loss in the previous year's semi-finals, Richmond faced a significant setback with a shoulder injury that required surgery, sidelining him for months. Despite this, he has made a strong comeback, training rigorously at the Midland club under coach Gerry O’Boyle. Richmond has not only recovered but has also enhanced his boxing skills, focusing on improving his footwork and defense. His return to the ring has been marked by a renewed sense of determination, aiming to win the Ulster Elite title and potentially secure a spot on the Irish team for the European Championships. His journey back to competitive boxing has been supported by his family, particularly his mother, who has been a constant source of encouragement.
