Canadian surfer Erin Brooks finished third Wednesday in her opening heat of the Lexus Pipe Pro, forcing the teenager to progress via the elimination round.
Erin Brooks, a 16-year-old Canadian surfer, faced an early exit at the Lexus Pipe Pro in Hawaii, dropping into the elimination round after her performance in the first heat. Despite her young age, Brooks has been making waves in the surfing world, having previously competed in the World Surf League's Championship Tour. At the event, she scored a 5.17 on her first wave but struggled to find another scoring opportunity, ultimately finishing with a total of 5.17 points, which was not enough to advance directly. Her next challenge is in the elimination round where she aims to continue her journey in the competition. This event is significant as it's part of the World Surf League's Qualifying Series, offering valuable points towards qualifying for the prestigious Championship Tour.
