  • About 2,500 dogs from 201 different breeds and varieties are set to compete in the 149th Westminster Kennel Club dog show.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, one of the oldest and most prestigious dog shows in the U.S., is set to take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. This year's event, marking its 148th occurrence, will feature over 2,500 dogs from more than 200 breeds competing for the coveted Best in Show title. The show not only highlights the beauty, temperament, and abilities of purebred dogs but also includes events like agility, obedience, and a new dock diving competition. The competition begins with breed judging, followed by group judging, and culminates in the Best in Show on May 14, 2024. The event also offers public access, allowing dog enthusiasts to witness the proceedings, meet the dogs, and participate in related activities, emphasizing the show's role in promoting responsible dog ownership and breeding.
