  • England on Sunday called up batter Tom Banton as a cover for injured all-rounder Jacob Bethell for third ODI against India at Ahmedabad.

England has called up Somerset batter Tom Banton as cover for the injured Jacob Bethell for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India, starting January 22, 2025. Bethell, a 20-year-old left-handed batter, suffered a back injury during a training session, prompting the need for a replacement. Banton, known for his aggressive batting style, has previously played 12 T20Is for England, scoring 142 runs at a strike rate of 135.23. His inclusion aims to bolster England's batting lineup as they prepare to face a formidable Indian side in their home conditions.
