The Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) has announced that it has accepted 322 trainers for the 2025 Thoroughbred Makeover, an event aimed at showcasing the versatility of retired racehorses by retraining them for new careers in various equestrian disciplines. This year's event, which will take place at the Kentucky Horse Park, saw an increase in applications, reflecting growing interest in the program. The trainers, who come from diverse backgrounds, will work with their horses over the next year to prepare for competitions in categories like dressage, show jumping, and trail riding, among others. The RRP's initiative not only provides a second chance for these horses but also promotes the welfare and adaptability of Thoroughbreds post-racing career.
