The "Scholar-Athlete of the Year" program isn't just about recognizing great football players; it's about celebrating well-rounded individuals. We're searching for student-athletes who demonstrate a genuine commitment to academic excellence, actively contribute to their school and community, and showcase exceptional leadership qualities. These are the individuals who understand that being a student-athlete means balancing rigorous training schedules with demanding coursework and actively engaging in positive community involvement. Throughout the upcoming football season (beginning this fall), News 4 San Antonio will shine a weekly spotlight on a nominated Scholar-Athlete. Each week, we'll share their stories through features on our website, across our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), and directly during our "Thursday Night Lights" broadcasts. These features will delve into the nominees' academic pursuits, explore their community involvement, and highlight their athletic achievements.
