Owatonna Wrestling Dominates Northfield Duals
Locale: UNITED STATES

OWATONNA, MN - January 14th, 2026 - The Owatonna High School wrestling team is riding high after a stellar weekend performance, culminating in the Northfield Dual Meet and Lakeville Invite. The Huskies demonstrated impressive strength and depth, achieving their highest scores of the season and solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in Class AAA.
The weekend began with a sweep at the Northfield Dual Meet, where Owatonna convincingly defeated three opponents. The Huskies started strong, overpowering Northfield with a score of 42-25. They continued their dominance, easily handling Red Wing 48-23. The final test of the night, a match against Rochester Mayo, proved slightly more challenging, but Owatonna still managed to secure the victory with a score of 45-29.
The momentum carried over into Saturday's Lakeville Invite, a larger and more competitive tournament. While the Huskies didn't claim the top spot, they finished a respectable sixth with a total of 119.5 points, demonstrating their ability to compete at a high level against a wide range of opponents. The team's success at Lakeville was largely fueled by standout individual performances from several key wrestlers.
Leading the charge was Jordan Christian (120 lbs), currently ranked No. 1 in Class AAA. Christian remained undefeated for the weekend, posting a perfect 3-0 record and showcasing the exceptional skill that has earned him the top ranking. Similarly impressive was Carson Brockhouse (152 lbs), who also maintained an unblemished 3-0 record and holds a ranking of No. 3 in Class AAA. Brockhouse's performance underscores the Huskies' strength in the middleweight classes.
The team's depth was clearly on display with additional 3-0 records achieved by Brock Hanson (132 lbs), Carter Hansen (138 lbs), and the formidable Kaden Eng (285 lbs). The consistent success across multiple weight classes highlights the effectiveness of Owatonna's wrestling program and its ability to develop well-rounded athletes. Eng's dominance at the heavyweight division is particularly noteworthy, showcasing the team's power and strength.
While Christian, Brockhouse, B. Hanson, C. Hanson, and Eng earned the perfect 3-0 records, Caleb Hinderaker (113 lbs) and Mason Rindy (160 lbs) also contributed significantly to the team's success, finishing with commendable 2-1 records. These near-perfect performances demonstrate that even when facing tough competition, Owatonna's wrestlers are consistently pushing themselves to achieve their best.
The Owatonna wrestling program has been steadily building a reputation for excellence, and this weekend's results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the wrestlers, coaching staff, and the supportive community. The combination of strong individual talent and a deep, well-prepared team positions Owatonna as a serious contender for the Class AAA state championship.
The Huskies will be back in action this Thursday, January 18th, at the Rochester John Marshall Invite. This next tournament provides another opportunity for the team to showcase their skills and further refine their strategy as they head towards the crucial championship rounds. Fans and supporters will be eagerly watching to see how the Huskies perform against another challenging field of competitors. The team's performance at Rochester John Marshall will be a key indicator of their preparedness for the remainder of the season.
