  • The U.S. Justice Department and 16 U.S. states said in a pair of court filings that they support a court order won by FuboTV in August that temporarily blocked Walt Disney , Fox and Warner Bros Discovery from launching a competing sports streaming venture.

The U.S. Justice Department and a group of states have supported a lawsuit by FuboTV against a sports streaming venture involving ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros Discovery, alleging that the venture could monopolize the market for sports content. FuboTV claims that the joint venture, which aims to create a new streaming service, would bundle sports content in a way that forces consumers to pay for channels they do not want, thereby stifling competition. The lawsuit argues that this could lead to higher prices for consumers and less choice in the market. The Justice Department and the states argue that the venture's structure could harm competition by leveraging the market power of the involved companies, potentially violating antitrust laws.
