Competing with five Japanese skaters in the six-woman field, Amber Glenn of the United States continued her breakout season in figure skating by taking the lead in the short program at the Grand Prix Final on Thursday as world champion Kaori Sakamoto fell.
Amber Glenn has taken the lead at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Columbus, Ohio, showcasing a strong performance in the women's short program. She scored 74.98 points, highlighted by a triple lutz-triple toe loop combination, a double axel, and level-four spins and steps. Despite a slight bobble on her flying camel spin, her overall execution was impressive. Following closely behind are Isabeau Levito and Clare Seo, with scores of 73.78 and 67.41 respectively. The competition is tight, with the free skate program set to determine the champion.
