  • After being blanked 4-0 by host Canada the night before, Finland bounced back with a gritty 3-1 win over Germany during Friday's second day of competition at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Ottawa.

In the World Juniors hockey tournament, Finland rebounded from an earlier loss to Canada by defeating Germany 4-3 in a game held in Gothenburg, Sweden. Finland's victory was highlighted by a late-game surge, with goals from Lenni Hameenaho and Rasmus Kumpulainen in the third period, the latter scoring the game-winner with just over two minutes left. Despite Germany's efforts to tie the game, including a goal by Julian Lutz, Finland managed to hold off the comeback. This win was crucial for Finland, who are now looking to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, while Germany, still winless, faces an uphill battle to advance.
