  • The Redwood High School competition cheer team made school history on Jan. 18 at Buchanan High School in Clovis. The Rangers captured the program's first Central Section championship, a Division III cheer title,

The Redwood Rangers cheer team from Visalia, California, celebrated a historic victory by winning the Central Section Championship in the Traditional Cheer Non-Tumbling Large Division. This win marks the first time in the school's history that the cheer team has secured a section title. The team, led by Coach Ashley Smith, has been practicing since June, focusing on perfecting their routine which includes stunts, jumps, and dance. Their hard work paid off as they scored 87.5 points, narrowly defeating Clovis North by just 0.5 points. This achievement not only highlights the team's dedication but also their ability to perform under pressure, showcasing their skills in a highly competitive environment.
