In an interview with Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, Kahne mentioned that while he has no current plans to race in the Cup Series, he remains open to the possibility if the right opportunity presents itself. His focus, however, is on enjoying his return to racing in the Xfinity Series, where he last competed in 2018. Kahne, who retired from full-time racing in 2018 due to health issues, has been racing in sprint cars and other series, keeping him engaged with the sport. His return to NASCAR is seen as a test to see how he feels about racing at this level again, with no definitive plans for a full-time comeback in any series.
