Netball New Zealand has decided to introduce a two-point shot to this year's ANZ Premiership, following in the footsteps of Australia and the UK.

Netball New Zealand has introduced a new rule for the ANZ Premiership, allowing players to score a two-point shot from outside the current goal circle, effective from the 2024 season. This change aims to enhance the game's appeal by adding an element of excitement and strategy, similar to the three-point line in basketball. The two-point shot will be taken from a designated area, with the exact dimensions still to be finalized. This rule change was inspired by its successful trial in the UK's Netball Super League, where it has been well-received.
