  • In his first season at Kentucky, Mark Pope has done something just two other coaches in the history of college basketball have done. With yet another ranked victory, the Wildcats have tied the all-time record for most wins against AP Top 15 competition with eight.

The University of Kentucky men's basketball team has matched the all-time college basketball record for the most wins against top-15 ranked teams in a single season, securing their sixth such victory. This achievement ties them with the 1990-91 UNLV team and the 2000-01 Duke team. Kentucky's latest win came against Tennessee, ranked No. 10, with a score of 66-54. This season, Kentucky has also defeated No. 1 Kansas, No. 9 North Carolina, No. 13 Miami, No. 14 Arkansas, and No. 15 Auburn. Coach John Calipari highlighted the team's resilience and ability to perform under pressure, especially noting their success in away games. This record-breaking performance underscores Kentucky's prowess in high-stakes college basketball games.
