A 16-year-old high school basketball player named Jordan won $5,000 by defeating NBA star Damian Lillard in a three-point shooting contest during a Jr. NBA event in Portland. Jordan, who plays for the Jr. NBA, outshot Lillard, who is known for his exceptional three-point shooting skills, making 11 out of 25 shots compared to Lillard's 10. This event not only showcased Jordan's talent but also highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship as Lillard, a two-time NBA three-point contest champion, graciously congratulated the teenager. The event was part of a broader initiative to engage young athletes, providing them with opportunities to interact with professional players and gain recognition.
