  • The AFLW and WBBL have posted record numbers for their respective 2024 seasons. This AFLW season was the highest streamed of all time across Kayo Sports, Foxtel Go, Foxtel Now and BINGE - up 61% year-on-year - while linear audiences on Foxtel grew 12% year-on-year.

The Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) and the AFL Women's (AFLW) have both reported record-breaking streaming numbers for their recent seasons. The WBBL, which concluded its season in December, saw a 35% increase in streaming minutes compared to the previous year, with a total of 11.5 million minutes streamed. This surge was attributed to the league's growing popularity and the availability of free streaming on platforms like Kayo Freebies and 7plus. Similarly, the AFLW experienced a significant rise in viewership, with streaming minutes increasing by 50% to 15.3 million minutes. This growth was supported by the league's expansion and the introduction of new teams, enhancing its appeal and accessibility to fans. Both leagues' success highlights the increasing interest in women's sports and the effectiveness of digital streaming platforms in reaching broader audiences.
