The bill was introduced on the same day the Franklin County Sheriff released body cam footage from the midfield fight after Michigan's win.

An Ohio General Assembly member, Representative Dani Isaacsohn, has introduced a bill aimed at protecting athletes from abusive coaching practices. The proposed legislation, known as the "Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act," seeks to establish guidelines for coaches to recognize and respond to potential heart-related issues among student athletes. This initiative comes in the wake of several high-profile incidents involving young athletes suffering from sudden cardiac arrests during sports activities. The bill would mandate training for coaches on how to identify symptoms of cardiac distress and require schools to have an emergency action plan in place. Isaacsohn emphasized the importance of this measure to prevent tragedies and ensure the safety and well-being of student athletes across Ohio.
