  • WNY Walleye Classic, a three-day event that moved from Barcelona Harbor to the Dunkirk Central Avenue pier, was a true community affair. It featured food, games, live music, an outdoor show, and a fun fishing event for youngsters,

The Western New York Walleye Classic, a popular fishing tournament, is set to expand for its 2025 event. Originally focused on walleye fishing, the tournament will now include additional species such as smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and musky, aiming to attract a broader range of anglers. This expansion is part of an effort to enhance the event's appeal, increase participation, and promote tourism in the region. The tournament, which has been a significant event on the local sports calendar, will continue to be held on Lake Erie, with the new format expected to bring more competitive excitement and community engagement.
