The International Boxing Association (IBA) deemed the shirt as "political speech," which is against their rules. This incident has sparked controversy, with the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee (LNOC) condemning the IBA's decision and calling for a review of the IBA's governance, especially in light of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The LNOC also criticized the IBA for not addressing the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes under their national flags, which they argue goes against the Olympic Charter.
