The Collingwood Magpies have secured the No.1 pick in the upcoming AFLW draft, selecting Ash Centra, a highly-rated midfielder from the Gippsland Power. This decision was influenced by Centra's impressive performance in the Coates Talent League Girls, where she averaged 23 disposals, six tackles, and five clearances per game. Collingwood's list manager, Jess Burger, highlighted Centra's competitiveness, leadership, and potential to become a star in the AFLW. The draft, set to take place on Monday, will see Centra join the Magpies, who are looking to bolster their midfield with her skills and tenacity.
