  • Japan's Olympic champion Ayumu Hirano will compete in the inaugural season of Shaun White's Snow League, the start-up circuit said on Wednesday, leading a decorated group of athletes.

Shaun White's Snow League, a new competitive snowboarding series, has announced that Olympic champion Ayumu Hirano will participate in its inaugural season starting in 2024. Hirano, who won gold in the halfpipe at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, joins the league which aims to elevate the sport by providing a structured competition format with significant prize money and a focus on athlete welfare. The league, backed by Shaun White, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, seeks to create a more professional environment for snowboarders, offering them a platform to showcase their skills in a series of events designed to increase the sport's visibility and appeal.
