  • Will Howard had a record-breaking start to the National Championship Game. Ohio State's quarterback started the game with 13 consecutive completed passes, setting a new championship game record. While he didn't connect on his 14th attempt,

Will Howard, the quarterback for Kansas State, set a new record in the first half of the Pop-Tarts Bowl against Notre Dame on December 28, 2023. He became the first player in FBS bowl history to throw for three touchdowns and run for two more in a single half. Howard's performance included a 10-yard rushing touchdown, a 36-yard pass to Jayce Brown, a 9-yard pass to Garrett Oakley, a 2-yard run, and a 69-yard pass to DJ Giddens, leading Kansas State to a 35-0 lead at halftime. This remarkable display of skill not only highlighted Howard's versatility but also etched his name into college football bowl game history.
