The team, consisting of seniors Kameron Johnson, Kourtney Smith, and junior Jaden Brown, presented their idea for a smart football helmet designed to enhance player safety by monitoring impacts and providing real-time data to coaches and medical staff. Their pitch was part of the NFL's "The Big Pitch" event, which encourages student entrepreneurs to develop solutions for real-world problems in sports. The helmet aims to reduce the risk of concussions and other injuries by alerting when a player has sustained a significant hit, potentially preventing further play until they are cleared. This initiative not only highlights the students' entrepreneurial spirit but also underscores the NFL's commitment to player safety and innovation in sports technology.
