Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected unopposed as CAF president for another four years. He aims to improve African football infrastructure, reducing the number of countries unable to host matches. His first term saw increased prize money and youth development initiatives.
Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected as the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for a second term, which will last until 2027. The re-election took place during the 45th CAF Ordinary General Assembly in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Motsepe, who is also the first South African to hold this position, was the sole candidate for the presidency. His re-election comes at a time when CAF is focusing on enhancing the development of football across the continent, improving infrastructure, and increasing the financial benefits for member associations. Under his leadership, CAF has seen significant reforms and an increase in the FIFA Forward Development Programme funding, aimed at supporting football development in Africa.
