  • The Patriots will have a long snapper competition this offseason after drafting Julian Ashby in Round 7

The New England Patriots have signed former Los Angeles Chargers long snapper Bradley Huss to compete with Joe Cardona for the long snapper position, as reported by ESPN's Mike Reiss. This move comes after Cardona, who has been with the Patriots since 2015 and is a two-time Pro Bowler, missed the entire 2022 season due to a foot injury. Huss, who went undrafted out of Auburn in 2022, spent his rookie season on the Chargers' practice squad and has yet to play in an NFL game. The competition between Huss and Cardona will take place during the Patriots' training camp, with the winner securing the long snapper role for the upcoming season.
