The Enhanced Games, a new sporting event set to launch in 2026, will allow athletes to use performance-enhancing drugs, challenging the global anti-doping norms established by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Founded by Australian businessman Aron D'Souza, the event aims to provide an alternative to the Olympics, where athletes can compete without the fear of failing drug tests. The Enhanced Games will feature five categories: track and field, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics, and combat sports. D'Souza argues that the use of performance-enhancing drugs is already widespread in sports and that his event will promote transparency and safety in their use. The initiative has sparked controversy, with critics arguing that it undermines the principles of fair play and could pose serious health risks to athletes.
