  WJLA is the local ABC affiliate for the greater Washington DC area. From our studios in Arlington, VA ABC7 covers national and local news, sports, weather, traffic and culture and carries entertainment and sports programming. WJLA serves Alexandria, Springfield, Annandale, Tysons, Reston, Ashburn, Centreville and Manassas, Virginia and Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Beltsville, Greenbelt, Bowie, College Park, Largo, Crofton, Annapolis, Hyattsville and Takoma Park, Maryland, and all the communities in between.

The WJLA poll, conducted by ABC7 and Emerson College, reveals that a majority of Virginians (59%) disapprove of President Joe Biden's job performance, with only 36% approving. The poll also shows a tight race in the upcoming Virginia gubernatorial election, with Republican Glenn Youngkin leading Democrat Terry McAuliffe by a narrow margin of 47% to 46%. Additionally, the survey indicates that 49% of Virginians believe the country is on the wrong track, while 39% feel it is headed in the right direction. The poll was conducted from October 1-3, 2021, with a sample size of 1,000 registered voters and a margin of error of +/- 3%.
