  • Fort Wayne's water is moving to the state finals for a chance to win Best Tasting Water in Indiana for a fourth consecutive year, the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water said Thursday in a news release. Fort Wayne City Utilities, Three Rivers Filtration Plant was announced as the regional competition's winner on Jan. 30, the release said.

The Fort Wayne Water Treatment Plant is set to compete in the 2024 Indiana Water Taste Test Competition, aiming to reclaim its title after a previous win in 2019. The competition, organized by the Indiana Section of the American Water Works Association, will take place on February 13, 2024, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Fort Wayne's water, which comes from the St. Joseph River, has been recognized for its quality, having won the competition in 2019 and placing second in 2020. The event not only highlights the taste of the water but also underscores the importance of water quality and treatment processes.
