Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, emphasized the need for more funding to nurture grassroots sports following the conclusion of the indoor events at the Agege Stadium Indoor Sports Hall.

The Obasa Games 2024, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, concluded with winners emerging in various sports including boxing, table tennis, chess, and scrabble. The event, which ran from May 1 to May 3, 2024, was organized by the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, to promote unity and sportsmanship among the staff. In boxing, the winners were determined through a series of matches showcasing skill and endurance. Table tennis saw intense competition with players demonstrating agility and precision. Chess and scrabble events highlighted strategic thinking and mental acuity, with participants competing for top honors. The games not only provided a platform for physical activity but also fostered camaraderie and competitive spirit among the participants.
