  • Football isn't the only thing Americans like to watch on Thanksgiving. The National Dog Show continues its decades-long run, this time with a brand new breed. Here's what to know and how to watch.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, a prestigious event in the dog show world, took place over Thanksgiving weekend, showcasing a variety of breeds competing for the coveted Best in Show title. This year's event, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, featured over 3,000 dogs from 210 different breeds. The competition not only highlights the physical attributes and skills of the dogs but also emphasizes the bond between dogs and their handlers. The show includes various categories like herding, hound, non-sporting, sporting, terrier, toy, and working groups, with each group winner advancing to the final round. The event also serves as a platform for promoting responsible dog ownership and breeding practices, as recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
