Al Sadd secured their advancement to the last 16 of the Asian Champions League with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Sharjah, thanks to a stoppage-time penalty by Baghdad Bounedjah. The match, which took place on December 2, 2024, saw Al Sadd take the lead through Akram Afif in the 27th minute. However, Sharjah equalized in the 67th minute with a goal from Moussa Marega.
